The Killing sock puppets are baaaaack pt. 2.

Talk about opening up a can o’ worms on this site!!!! Hilarious!!! People were so freaked out that the crime wasn’t solved at the end of season one. Far as I’m concerned, they can keep it going for awhile. I would hate to lose any of the actors, Michelle Forbes, etc…because by solving that case, their whole family would be eliminated from the series. Besides, there’s so much more to delve into. Why rush it? Can’t wait for season 2!!

folks - let’s not be so harsh about the ending. first seasons always have growing pains. the show is dark, riveting, compelling, addictive and has terrific actors. with so little intelligent fare on the tube, we should be more supportive of networks like AMC and the shows it airs. Not difficult to believe. Most American viewers have the attention spans of goldfish. God forbid they should be asked to invest in a storyline that might *gasp!* not be tied up in a tidy bow in time for ‘sweeps.’

Yeesh… what’s with all the bawling over a cliffhanger ending? Yes – the last episode was disappointing, and the cliffhanger felt tacked on at the last minute and unconnected to the rest of the story. I will agree, that part was lame. However, I COMPLETELY disagree that the rest of the series was dull or lackluster in any way… In fact, I’d go so far as to say that THE KILLING featured some of the best performances (and writing, at times) on television. If you are one of the CSI crowd who likes a neat and tidy resolution at the end of every episode, then you are going to HATE this series. Rosie’s murder sets the story in motion and is the impetus that drives the story along, but this show is about the CHARACTERS – and on that front it delivers in spades.

I wonder how many of you remember a television phenomenon from the nineties known as TWIN PEAKS. Show runner and creative genius David Lynch never really intended to solve the murder of Laura Palmer(THE KILLING owes alot to TWIN PEAKS), but was forced to provide resolution by ABC. Once the murderer was disclosed, the show died a slow painful death. David Lynch was right… the murder should have either never been explained, or at least it should have been put off until later in the series.

I actually thought the cliffhanger was a brilliant twist, and will definitely be tuning in for series 2. The current cast is fantastic and that alone would keep me watching, regardless of the investigation.

Speak for yourself — I will definitely be watching. Cliffhanger season finales are no surprise to us who have been watching American television since… well, forever.

I’m getting really sick of people saying “I’m done with the show” and more plainly I’m sick of how many people in this country are in such need of instant gratification. Get over the fact that we didn’t find out who the killer was in 13 episodes/”days”. Its not realistic (given the genre of the show). The fun of shows is having that great cliff hanger at the end of the season. I, too was a little angry but came to realize how great the storytelling actually was. Anyways, whatever, hate on if you must but obviously you guys aren’t true fans of the show if you won’t give it another chance.
To all of the whiners who are “angry” about the case not being solve in 13episodes:You are ridiculous children in need of instant gratification.Stick to The Mentalist or Hawaii 5-0.More your speed.Nobody needs you to watch The Killing.  Oh Wooow!! You guys are really going to show them. People like you are great heroes this world desperately needs to stand up against the evil in the world.
Get over yourselves, she is making the show she wants to make, if you don’t like it, switch the channel - there are hundreds of them, its not like she is making you watch it. You talk about ego? She should not care what you think, it is HER SHOW. Shows written by committee result in stuff like “Full House”. Good for her, she should do what she wants, just like any other writer should. You all sound like the crazy fanboys who always whine about George Lucas. It makes no difference if you like their stuff or not, it belongs to them, not you.

Yes! How dare a producer want to tell a story on their own terms! How dare they not pander to mob-rule and the cliche-driven dribble of the mainstream, it’s a travesty I tell you.
I remember back when Twin Peaks was on, how the public pressured Lynch with unrelenting force to abandon his own vision for the show and to tell them everything as soon as possible, and as history will attest, the solving of the Laura Palmer murder and the show’s continuation afterwards led to some of the best TV we’ve ever seen.
I can’t believe people get away with this when CSI shows you how to create such immediate and satisfying plotlines which don’t infuriate their viewers by expecting patience and intelligence from them!

well since the name of the show is not  The KILLINGS…..is it such a surprise that Rosie’s murder is still the focus of the show.
I’m with those who say you want your murder neat and wrapped quickly…there are plenty of shows on Tv that  do that for you.
there is plenty of room on 24/7 million station dials for both types of mysteries

I don’t have a problem with this.  Real-life murder investigations are not solved overnight, why do people expect a show to do it?  Oh, right, the glut of instant gratification procedural shows where everything is tied up after 44 minutes.  I’m glad The Killing is following a much more realistic approach/timeline to such an occurrence.  And I love that they show the family dealing with their grief; to me, that dynamic is the most interesting part of the show.
